From October 22, HOAs and housing cooperatives will have even more opportunities to install solar power plants in their own homes. The Supervisory Board of the Energy Efficiency Fund approved changes to the “GreenDIM” Program aimed at stimulating the use of alternative energy sources in multi-apartment buildings. The changes make the Program even more attractive to HOAs and housing cooperatives, simplifying participation and increasing financial support.
The maximum grant amount has been increased
HOAs and housing cooperatives with a large area (more than 8,000 m2) now have the opportunity to receive a grant of up to UAH 2 million for the installation of a more powerful solar power plant. Thanks to this, it is expected to reduce the cost of paying for electricity in common areas and increase the energy independence of the house.
Cancellation of the requirement for the mandatory presence of an individual heat plant (IHP)
Thanks to the cancellation of the norm, even more houses will be able to become energy independent.
Partial reimbursement of the cost of materials used
Now HOAs and housing cooperatives can count on an increased amount of compensation for the cost of additional materials used in the amount of 20% of the grant for basic equipment.
An increase in the specific marginal cost of the main equipment
From now on, the maximum amount of the grant for the main equipment for the installation of a solar power plant, in the case of using storage batteries, with a capacity at least twice the capacity of the inverter, will be 36,000 hryvnias/kW.
Provision of a certificate of acceptance and transfer of services under the building’s energy efficiency certification agreement
According to the new norm, HOAs and housing cooperatives must provide the Certificate of acceptance and transfer of services provided under the building energy efficiency certification agreement together with the Grant Application (regarding the preliminary energy audit), as well as after project implementation together with Application 2. This will help to ensure proper identification of the counterparties of the HOA, transparency and control over the use of Program funds.
In general, changes to the “GreenDIM” Program make it more accessible and profitable for HOAs and housing cooperatives, stimulating the implementation of energy-efficient solutions and the use of renewable energy sources in multi-apartment buildings.
