The Cabinet of Ministers approved the draft State Budget for 2022 and submitted it for consideration of the Verkhovna Rada.
The Government proposes to increase the statutory capital of the Energy Efficiency Fund to UAH 2.594.335,000.
This is stated in the Annex 3 to the draft law on the State Budget of Ukraine for 2022 №6000 as of September 15, published on the website of the Parliament.
According to the Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, the draft State Budget had been formed on the basis of a budget declaration for 3 years, which ensures it being realistic.
The budget’s priorities remain to increase funding for the army, infrastructure, healthcare, education, and social programs.
“In total, UAH 2.7 billion has been contributed to the Fund’s capital for all time. This is the money from the state budget. Another € 100 million has been allocated by donors, the European Union and the German government to co-finance energy efficiency projects. This money is administered by IFC – International Finance Corporation. Recently, the Government approved a draft State Budget, that envisages the increase of the statutory capital of the Fund by UAH 2.6 billion next year. In addition, the current budget for 2021 provides the allocation of UAH 100 million for the Energy Efficiency Fund,”- commented Yehor Fareniuk, the Acting Director of the Energy Efficiency Fund.
For reference. The Energodim program is funded by the statutory capital of the Energy Efficiency Fund, which is formed from the State Budget of Ukraine, as well as contributions from the European Union and the Government of Germany, and it is implemented in cooperation with IFC and GIZ.
