While the entire neighborhood plunged into darkness and cold, the HOA “Zatyshna Oselia – 14” remained an island of light and warmth.

“The winter was very difficult,” recalls Serhii Vasylyna, head of the HOA. “But even on freezing days, the sun literally saved the situation. While the district endured blackouts, our building held out for over 30 hours on its own generation. The elevators worked, the lights stayed on in the hallways, water pumps kept running, and video surveillance remained active. Life didn’t stop for a single minute. We sincerely thank the Energy Efficiency Fund for their support and the opportunity to realize this project — without the ‘GreenDIM’ program, such a result would have been impossible.”
The most telling moment: “Zatyshna Oselia – 14” was the only building in the area that did not have to drain water from its heating system. While others prepared for frozen pipes, these people simply continued to live in warmth.
The Mathematics of Success:
- The station has already generated 14.8 MWh of energy.
- Savings for the condominium budget amounted to over 62,000 UAH.
- Total project cost: 1.7 million UAH, of which 1.1 million UAH was a grant from the Fund.
- Contribution per family: approximately 4,000 UAH.
