The HOA ‘Molodi 6’ in Lutsk Completes Comprehensive Energy Renovation under the Enerhodim Program

The HOA ‘Molodi 6’ in Lutsk has completed the comprehensive energy modernisation of its nine-storey building, which comprises two entrances and 72 apartments, under the Energodim Program.

As part of the project, the building’s façade and roof were insulated, and windows and external doors in common areas were replaced. Ukrainian-made materials were used for the insulation works.

Following completion of the works, the building’s energy consumption for heating decreased by 41.8%, reducing residents’ heating costs and providing more comfortable living conditions.

Project Funding

The total cost of the modernisation amounted to almost UAH 8.4 million:

  • Energy Efficiency Fund grant – UAH 4.5 million;
  • Co-owners’ contribution – UAH 3.6 million.

The condominium financed its contribution through a loan from the Decarbonisation Fund of Ukraine. Molodi 6 was the first condominium in Ukraine to sign an agreement for this type of loan.

Loan Terms:

  • Interest rate: 9% per annum;
  • Loan term: 10 years;
  • Payment deferral period: 12 months.

Economic Benefits

Following the modernisation:

  • Energy consumption for heating decreased by 41.8%, equivalent to approximately 466,200 kWh per year;
  • The building’s annual heating cost savings amount to approximately UAH 1.15 million;
  • For a 60 m² apartment, the average annual savings on heating are around UAH 12,000.

Valentyna Levytska, Chair of the Board of the Molodi 6 HOA, notes that following completion of the works, residents noticed the difference primarily in their improved living comfort.

“Living conditions in the apartments have become much more comfortable and warmer. We managed to complete all the works quickly, thanks to the support of the Energy Efficiency Fund and the Decarbonisation Fund.”

The Energy Efficiency Fund’s Energodim Program provides grants to homeowners associations for the implementation of comprehensive energy efficiency measures. The Program is funded by the State Budget of Ukraine, with financial support from the European Union and the Government of Germany.
