The “Energy Source” project has started: the first informational event was held in Cherkasy

Within the framework of cooperation between the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine, the Energy Efficiency Fund, the Entrepreneurship Development Fund and the Joint Stock Company “Sense Bank”, the educational project “Energy Source” was launched.

This joint project is designed to increase the level of awareness of the population of Ukraine regarding the current preferential lending programs for energy-efficient solutions and involves holding a series of informational events in the regions of Ukraine. The target audience of such events is: representatives of territorial communities, HOAs, housing cooperatives, small, medium and corporate businesses.

The first educational event within the framework of the “Energy Source” project took place in the central part of Ukraine – in the city of Cherkasy. About 60 people participated.

During the event in Cherkasy:

  • Andrii Teliupa, Deputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine, and Ihor Taburets, Head of the Cherkasy RMA spoke with welcoming words;
  • Yehor Fareniuk, Director of the Energy Efficiency Fund, presented the conditions and features of the EEF’s programs – “GreenDIM” and “ENERGODIM”;
  • Viktor Katrenych, a member of the board of the Entrepreneurship Development Fund, spoke about energy solutions for businesses and how credit programs contribute to increasing energy independence;
  • Yana Shumunova, head for small and medium-sized businesses of JSC “Sense Bank”, provided practical advice on the use of state programs for financing energy-efficient solutions;
  • Pavlo Troshchynskyi, regional head for work with the state and utilities sectors of JSC “Sense Bank” talked about the peculiarities of attracting credit for energy-efficient initiatives for territorial communities.

“This year, more than ever, the country is synchronously preparing for the heating season and the creation of decentralized generation — one of the key areas of preparation for winter, determined at the state level,” commented Yehor Fareniuk, CEO of the Energy Efficiency Fund. — The Energy Efficiency Fund does not stand aside; in the spring we launched the “GreenDIM” grant program aimed at implementing alternative energy sources in the housing sector. Under this Program, the EEF provides grants to HOAs and housing cooperatives in the amount of 70% of the cost of equipment for solar power plants and heat pumps, which are installed in high-rise buildings to generate natural energy for general household needs. The Government’s decision on affordable lending for co-owners of houses to participate in this program has significantly strengthened its capabilities.”

Also, commenting on the launch of the “Energy Source” educational project, the CEO of the Energy Efficiency Fund expressed hope that the number of banking institutions that would provide affordable loans to HOAs and housing cooperatives to provide alternative power supply for buildings under the “GreenDIM” Program of the Energy Efficiency Fund would soon increase, because a lack of funds to start implementation of such projects actually eliminates the possibility of housing communities participating in this Program.

Moreover, during the event held in Cherkasy, Yehor Fareniuk presented the possibilities of the “ENERGODIM” Program aimed at ensuring comprehensive energy modernization of multi-apartment buildings.

“Comprehensive energy modernization of buildings is comfort, coziness and substantial savings for residents and the way to energy independence of the country,” commented Yehor Fareniuk. — We adapted the “ENERGODIM” Program to the conditions of wartime and, on our part, did everything possible to ensure that it did not stop operating and was as convenient and effective as possible for all its participants. Unfortunately, there is still a great lack of affordable lending for HOAs for the implementation of energy-efficient measures within the framework of the “ENERGODIM” Program. We hope that soon affordable loans for energy-efficient solutions will become possible because today energy efficiency is already a vital necessity.”

We would like to remind that on October 3, within the framework of the launch of the “Energy Source” project, between the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine, the Energy Efficiency Fund, the Entrepreneurship Development Fund and JSC “Sense Bank” signed the Memorandum of Cooperation.

Earlier, the Energy Efficiency Fund and JSC “Sense Bank” signed a partnership agreement.
